The cannabinoid institute(TCI), a global, women-run medical cannabis education company, announced in a press release today that It offers free cannabis certification courses to 100 medical students in New York state.

As more states legalize cannabis for medical and recreational use, TCI recognizes the critical role education plays in reducing patient side effects and ensuring the safe use of cannabis.

Through the program, Students have access to eight hours of medical cannabis education, including the latest scientific research on the endocannabinoid system and the known effects of cannabis on the human body.

“When I was doing my academic research on clinicians’ knowledge and attitudes toward medicinal cannabis, it turned out that many clinicians hadn’t heard of the endocannabinoid system. The data showed that clinicians who had never experienced cannabis firsthand viewed it much more negatively and stigmatized it“Remarked Jan Roberts , Founder of TCI.

Jan Roberts, DSW,a licensed clinical social worker and educator NYU Silver School of Social Work, is also a faculty advisor to NYUs CannaHealth student group.

“We are excited to offer certification courses to New York State medical students who are at the forefront of patient care as medical cannabis research opens up potential treatment options,” said Roberts
